Security is everyone's business.  From identity theft, phishing, emailscams, spam, fraudulent automobile accidents, to hackers setting up IRC servers on your computers without you knowing about it.

Business security is even more important than individual security.  As a business owner, you collect personal and business financial data from credit reports to just plain names, address, phone information in the normal course of business.  Should your clients/customers data be compromised, you are liable for any loss.  The thought should come to mind, 'Class Action'.  Should you loose 15 or more clients data, this business threat could seriously hurt your ability to conduct business.

Recently in the news, we have heard several instances where employees have inadvertently allowed someone to get a hold of financial data.  Most notably is the Veterans Administration's loss of a laptop with name address and SSN.

How secure is your operation?

You can not be too secure!

Every day there are 2,000 to 20,000 viruses, worm, spam emails, malware, and unsolicited and unwanted materials passing through the Internet.  What is worse?  Hackers, young, and old alike, looking for an unsuspecting computer to get into.  What do they hope to accomplish you might ask.  Well some are kids playing around.  Others are seriously looking for unprotected computers with data files containing your passwords and login information to banking and investment websites.  But let us not forget about your QuickBooks data.  Now that is a goldmine in the true sense of the word.  Should a hacker find their way into your business or personal computer, the first thing they would look for is a QuickBooks installation and datafile Personal data which could compromise your financial picture in an instant is readily accessible and easy to acquire.

How, you might ask does this happen?  If you leave your computer on and your DSL/Cable modem on, then you are a highly likely victim, a target waiting for an arrow.  Microsoft Windows advertises, 'I am here!' to anyone connected to the network just asking to offer services to anyone (computer or human) who wants them.  Think you are secure?
